Social media has changed the game when it comes to internet marketing.  You cannot go very far without seeing it’s impact on the world we see online.  But as businesses are we utilizing social media properly?  Or are we missing out on opportunities that are right in front of our faces?  If we pay just a little bit more attention to what we put out on these social media platforms as well as the timeliness of the content the results could be very rewarding.  And quite honestly, it really isn’t that difficult.

Let’s cut to the chase.  The most important thing about social media is timely, relevant, trustworthy, and valuable content.  CONTENT IS WHERE IT IS AT!  By engaging people with good content, you breed a sense of community.  If they are interested in what you say and present to them, they will keep coming back for more.  It really is that simple.

Approach your social media profile like you are engaging in a conversation.  Get people to know what you are all about and also, find out what your fans are all about as well!  Ask questions, have a sense of humor, stimulate a response.  What you want to do is get users to really know and trust the essence of your business.  You want them to feel like they are a part of something.  Welcome them and nurture them!  Engage them with good content, don’t insult them with irrelevant nonsense!  Give them something to be a part of.  Share photos of what is happening at your business, introduce them to integral people on your team, have contests, give advice about things you specialize in, educate them!

By providing your users with good, relevant, timely content you will create a community pretty quickly housing people that want to see what you have to show and hear what you have to say.  If they trust you…they will come.
